The short version: We collect only what we need to provide the service. We don't sell your data. We use Stripe to process payments securely. You can request deletion of your data at any time.

FamilyForce ("we", "us", "our") operates the website at getfamilyforce.com and provides research-backed parenting playbooks, quizzes, and certificates of completion.

2. What information we collect

We collect information in the following ways:

Information you provide directly:

  • Name — when you complete a quiz and enter your name for your certificate of completion.
  • Email address — if you create an account or sign up for updates.
  • Payment information — collected and processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details (see Section 4).

Information collected automatically:

  • Usage data — pages visited, time spent, general interactions. Used only in aggregate to improve the site.
  • Device and browser information — browser type, operating system, screen size. Used for compatibility.
  • IP address — collected briefly for security purposes; not stored or profiled.

3. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Deliver the playbooks, quizzes, and certificates you've purchased or accessed.
  • Display your name on your personalised certificate of completion.
  • Process payments securely through Stripe.
  • Send order confirmations and account-related emails.
  • Respond to your questions or support requests.
  • Improve the quality and content of our playbooks.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not build profiles for the purpose of targeted marketing.

4. Payments and Stripe

All payments on FamilyForce are processed by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment processor. When you purchase a playbook:

  • Your card details are entered directly into Stripe's secure payment form.
  • FamilyForce never sees, receives, or stores your full card number, CVV, or expiry date.
  • Stripe may store your payment information in accordance with their own Privacy Policy.

We receive only a transaction confirmation and the last four digits of your card for reference.

5. Local storage and cookies

FamilyForce uses browser localStorage to save your quiz progress and certificate information locally on your device. This data:

  • Is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.
  • Includes your quiz score, completion date, and the name you entered for your certificate.
  • Can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser's site data.

We use minimal, strictly necessary cookies for session management. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies.

6. Sharing your information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share information only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Stripe — for payment processing (see Section 4).
  • Email service providers — to deliver transactional emails such as order confirmations.
  • Legal requirements — if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

Any third-party service providers we work with are contractually required to handle your data securely and only for the purposes we specify.

7. Data retention

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide the service and meet our legal obligations:

  • Account information — retained while your account is active and for up to 2 years after closure.
  • Purchase records — retained for 7 years for tax and accounting purposes.
  • Quiz and certificate data stored in localStorage — remains on your device until you clear it.
  • Support correspondence — retained for up to 2 years.

8. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Deletion — request that we delete your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
  • Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Objection — object to our processing of your data in certain circumstances.
  • Withdrawal of consent — withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.

9. Children's privacy

FamilyForce is a service for parents and caregivers. Our playbooks, quizzes, and certificates are intended for adults aged 18 and over.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at support@getfamilyforce.com and we will delete it promptly.

10. Security

We take the security of your information seriously. Measures we take include:

  • HTTPS encryption on all pages.
  • Payment processing via Stripe's PCI-DSS Level 1 certified infrastructure.
  • Access controls limiting who can access your data internally.
  • Regular review of our data practices.

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we take all reasonable precautions, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you suspect a security issue, please contact us immediately.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

If changes are significant, we will notify registered users by email. Your continued use of FamilyForce after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
