Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
FamilyForce ("we", "us", "our") operates the website at getfamilyforce.com and provides two products: research-backed parenting playbooks and Scout, a personalised monthly milestone digest for parents of newborns and young children.
For questions about this policy, contact us at support@getfamilyforce.com.
2. What information we collect
Information you provide directly:
- Name and email address — when you create an account, sign up for Scout, or purchase a gift.
- Payment information — collected and processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details (see Section 5).
- Gift recipient details — if you purchase a Scout gift, we collect the recipient's name and email address in order to deliver the gift.
- Quiz name — if you complete a playbook quiz and enter your name for a certificate of completion.
Information collected automatically:
- Usage data — pages visited, time spent, and general interactions. Used in aggregate to improve the service.
- Device and browser information — browser type, operating system, screen size. Used for compatibility.
- IP address — collected briefly for security purposes.
- Analytics data — we use Google Analytics to understand aggregate usage patterns. Google Analytics may set cookies on your device. See Section 7 for details.
3. Information about your child
Scout is a service for parents and caregivers. To personalise your monthly digest, we collect information that you provide about your child:
- Child's first name — used to personalise emails and calendar invites.
- Date of birth or expected due date — used to calculate your child's exact age and determine which developmental milestone windows are relevant each month.
- Gender — optional. Used only to personalise pronoun references in email copy.
- Milestone progress — if you mark milestones as complete in the Scout dashboard, we store those completion records to track your child's developmental journey over time.
This information is entered by you, the parent or caregiver. Children do not use FamilyForce directly. The US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) applies to data collected from children under 13, not data about them entered by a parent. Nevertheless, we treat all child-related data with the highest level of care and do not use it for any purpose other than delivering the Scout service to you.
You may request deletion of all child data associated with your account at any time by contacting support@getfamilyforce.com.
4. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Deliver the playbooks, quizzes, and certificates you have purchased or accessed.
- Provide Scout — sending personalised monthly milestone digest emails and calendar invites based on your child's exact age.
- Process payments and manage subscriptions securely through Stripe.
- Deliver gift codes to recipients and send purchase confirmations to buyers.
- Send transactional emails: account confirmations, receipts, subscription updates, and service notices.
- Respond to your support requests.
- Improve the quality and content of our playbooks and milestone data.
- Understand aggregate usage patterns via Google Analytics.
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not use your information for advertising. We do not build profiles for the purpose of targeted marketing. We do not sell your data.
5. Payments and Stripe
All payments on FamilyForce are processed by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment processor. When you make a purchase:
- Your card details are entered directly into Stripe's secure payment form.
- FamilyForce never sees, receives, or stores your full card number, CVV, or expiry date.
- We receive only a transaction confirmation and the last four digits of your card for reference.
- Stripe may store your payment information in accordance with their own Privacy Policy.
For Scout subscriptions, Stripe manages recurring billing. You can cancel your subscription at any time from within your Scout account settings.
6. Email communications
FamilyForce sends two types of email:
- Transactional emails — receipts, account confirmations, sign-in links, subscription notices, and gift delivery. These are essential to the service and cannot be opted out of while you hold an active account.
- Scout digest emails — personalised monthly milestone updates sent on your child's birthday each month. These are the core of the Scout product. You can cancel your Scout subscription at any time to stop receiving them, or contact us to request removal.
We use Resend to deliver our emails. Your email address is shared with Resend solely for the purpose of delivery. To unsubscribe from Scout digest emails, use the unsubscribe link in any Scout email or contact us at support@getfamilyforce.com.
7. Cookies and local storage
Cookies: We use the following cookies on getfamilyforce.com:
- Authentication cookies — strictly necessary session cookies set by Supabase to keep you signed in. These are essential to the service.
- Google Analytics cookies — we use Google Analytics (
_ga,_ga_*) to understand aggregate usage patterns such as pages visited and session duration. No personally identifiable information is sent to Google Analytics. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
We do not use advertising cookies or sell data to ad networks.
Local storage: Your browser's localStorage may be used to temporarily store your quiz progress, certificate data, and gift redemption codes during your session. This data remains on your device and can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
8. Third-party service providers
We use the following third-party services to operate FamilyForce. Each is used only for the purpose stated and is contractually required to handle your data securely:

We do not share your data with any other third parties except as described in Section 9.
