Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using the FamilyForce website at getfamilyforce.com, creating an account, or purchasing any of our products, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the site or make a purchase.

These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and customers of FamilyForce ("we", "us", "our"). You must be at least 18 years old to use FamilyForce or purchase any of our products.

2. Products and services

FamilyForce offers two types of products:

Parenting Playbooks — short, research-backed digital guides covering topics such as potty training, sleep training, and more. Each Playbook includes a quiz and a personalised certificate of completion.

• All Playbooks are available free of charge.
• Upon accessing a Playbook, you receive the full content via your FamilyForce account.
• Both parents or caregivers in the same household may access a Playbook and complete their own quiz and certificate.
• Access is provided digitally. No physical products are shipped.

Scout — a personalised monthly milestone digest for parents of newborns and young children (birth to 36 months). Scout sends a monthly email and calendar invite tailored to your child's exact age, covering developmental milestone windows. Scout is a free service (see Section 3).

We reserve the right to update, modify, or discontinue any product at any time. Where content is materially changed after your purchase, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you.

3. Scout

Free service. Scout is currently offered free of charge. You can sign up, add your child's details, and receive monthly digest emails and calendar invites at no cost. No credit card is required.

Future plans. FamilyForce may introduce optional paid features in the future. If and when paid features are introduced, we will provide clear notice of pricing before any charge is made. Your free access to core Scout features will not be affected without at least 30 days' written notice.

4. Payment and pricing

FamilyForce products — including Scout and all Playbooks — are currently offered free of charge. No payment is required to sign up or use any feature.

If paid features are introduced in the future, pricing will be clearly stated before any charge is made. Payments would be processed securely by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment processor. FamilyForce does not store your payment card details.

5. Cancellation and refunds

Scout. Scout is free. There are no charges and no cancellation fees. You can close your account at any time from within your account settings or by contacting us at support@getfamilyforce.com.

Playbooks. All Playbooks are free — no payment is taken and no refund is applicable.

If paid features are introduced in the future, cancellation and refund terms for those features will be provided at the time of purchase.

6. Licence and permitted use

Upon purchase (or, for free content, upon access), FamilyForce grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, personal licence to:

• Access and read Playbook content for your personal, household use.
• Share access with your co-parent or partner within the same household.
• Listen to Playbook audio content for personal use.
• Complete the quiz and receive a personalised certificate of completion.
• Print one copy of your certificate for personal display.
• Receive and read Scout digest emails and calendar invites for your personal use as a parent or caregiver.

This licence does not include the right to sublicense, sell, redistribute, or otherwise share content beyond your own household.

7. Prohibited use

You may not:

• Redistribute, resell, or share Playbook or Scout content outside your household.
• Upload content to any third-party platform, website, or file-sharing service.
• Remove or alter any copyright notices, watermarks, or attributions.
• Use our content for commercial purposes, training, or teaching without written permission from FamilyForce.
• Use our content to train, fine-tune, or develop any artificial intelligence or machine learning model without written permission.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or reproduce the website or its content by automated means.
• Create or use multiple accounts to circumvent access restrictions.
• Use the platform in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations.

8. Accounts

A FamilyForce account is required to access Playbooks and Scout. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your sign-in credentials and for all activity under your account.

You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account and to keep it up to date. You agree to notify us immediately at support@getfamilyforce.com if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, at our sole discretion.

9. Medical and developmental disclaimer

FamilyForce content — including Playbooks and Scout milestone digests — is for informational and educational purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional medical, paediatric, psychological, or developmental advice.

Scout's monthly milestone windows are based on general research and population-level developmental data. They are not a diagnostic tool. Every child develops at their own pace. If you have concerns about your child's health, development, or behaviour, please consult a qualified healthcare professional. Do not delay seeking medical advice based on anything you read in Scout or our Playbooks.

FamilyForce makes no warranties, express or implied, about the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of any content for your particular circumstances. Our content reflects research available at the time of writing and may not reflect the most recent clinical guidelines.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, FamilyForce provides the website, products, and services on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without any warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

We reserve the right to suspend access for maintenance, upgrades, or circumstances beyond our control, and we will make reasonable efforts to restore service promptly.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, FamilyForce shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, our products, website, or services.

Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of our products shall not exceed USD $100.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or liabilities. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

12. Intellectual property

All content on getfamilyforce.com — including Playbook text, audiobooks, quiz questions, certificate designs, Scout milestone content, logos, graphics, and website code — is owned by or licensed to FamilyForce and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you beyond the personal licence described in Section 7.

If you believe any content on our site infringes your intellectual property rights, please contact us at support@getfamilyforce.com.

13. Termination

You may close your FamilyForce account at any time by contacting us at support@getfamilyforce.com.

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately, without notice, if you: materially breach these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or use the service in a way that harms other users or FamilyForce.

Upon termination, your licence to access FamilyForce content ends.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

For material changes — including changes to pricing, refund policy, or subscription terms — we will notify registered users by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the site or your FamilyForce account after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region ("Hong Kong SAR"), without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any dispute arising under or in connection with these Terms shall first be referred to good-faith negotiation between the parties. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally within 30 days, both parties agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hong Kong SAR.

Nothing in this section limits any mandatory consumer rights you may have under the laws of your country of residence.
